▲ 294 Tomodachi: Living the Dream feels like a downgrade… 232 💬
i’m actually reaaaally disappointed with the new Tomodachi: Living the Dream game
they removed basically all of the fun little features that made the original game feel so special. like QR codes (we can’t even add other people’s miis anymore), Quirky Questions, Rap Battles, Tomodachi Quest, Judgment Bay, Magic Shows, Frisbee, Cookout, the Compatibility Board, and the Rankings system. there’s no ranking boards anymore. you also can’t see baby miis grow up or interact with them properly which made me so sad it used to be so cute watching them actually feel like a little family.
now married couples don’t even feel like couples anymore. they just act like roommates. they don’t sleep in the same bed, they have separate rooms, and honestly it just feels less meaningful since any miis can live together now anyway.
it was those tiny details that made the game so magical, like couples brushing their teeth together, checking on each other, sleeping in the same bed, (remember when they used to fall of the bed sometimes and they also had matching pjs😭) and just interacting like an actual relationship and now all of that is gone.
also stuff like choosing locations for proposals is gone too they just do it in their rooms now. and the concert hall is missing as well?? i really thought they’d expand things in a new game not remove them????
it honestly feels more like a downgrade than an upgrade. like they focused more on the miis themselves but forgot what actually made the gameplay fun and alive.
do you guys think there’s any chance they’ll slowly add these features back in updates or do you think this is just the direction the game is going now?😭😭

▲ 17 Games that feel like The Golden Compass 22 💬
This may be a long shot.
I love games like Skyrim and Diablo II. I'm a big history buff and also a really big book nerd. I've been re-reading a lot of fiction from my youth and remembered how much I love Philip Pullman. I love the immersion of shows like The Witcher (hated the games I know I know) and The Sandman. I really loved BOTW and love RPG's. I remember back in high school hanging out with friends while they played COD and made a note to play one day (never did).
I'm looking for a game that allows me to dive into a world with a compelling story, has fighting, and is pretty as hell. I also love Mafia / mob documentaries and shows like NARCOS and the Sopranos.
So maybe I'm looking for any game that fits into any of those categories.
Thank you!
▲ 0 How will the next Animal Crossing game be affected by Pokopia? 41 💬
Cosy games have been around for far longer than Animal Crossing has, and they've continued on in the ~25 years that the series has existed, with AC remaining pretty damn constant in its vibes and gameplay despite changes to the general cosy life sim ecosystem
So you might well be asking "why would Pokopia be the exception here?" And you know what, you're right, there's no reason for AC to change, except this time feels different. Pretty much everything that Animal Crossing does has been done either better or in a bigger way by Pokopia, and a lot of the main flaws have been addressed, to the extent that Pokopia feels like the game that AC should be. Just to list a couple:
* There are over 400 villagers in AC, but you can only have a small number actually in your village/town/island. In Pokopia, there are 300 and you can have all of them
* In AC you have a pretty small space for your villagers to live in, but in Pokopia you have 5 of them, and they are all significantly bigger
* There are 8 different types of villagers in AC, with a few different variations of each depending on hobbies, but in Pokopia each and every villager is significantly more unique. Sure, there are still archetypes, but they are far less rigid, there are conversations with specific dialogue that can only happen between set characters, and you are less likely to have two very similar characters living in close proximity repeating the same dialogue
* The villagers in AC don't really do anything, they just sorta exist, occasionally telling you how to emote or returning a gift you gave them. Whereas Pokopia has certain characters be plot relevant, nearly everyone can give you quests, and everyone has a different role, be that to help you process materials or run a shop. They can also follow you!
* In AC, you don't have much agency surrounding villager homes. Sometimes you can place them, sometimes you can decorate them, but the villagers are pretty satisfied with whatever you do, and any variety and individuality that is baked into the character's building and decorating style boils down to colour variations of the same building. In Pokopia, there are different variations for sizes and style of house, or you can just build your own, some don't even want or need a full house, and they will request specific items or categories of items - yeah, they want a lamp, but if it isn't cute and blue then they won't accept it. And they can live together if you want them to, but you'll need to coordinate their wants and needs!
This isn't me saying Pokopia is a flawless game - the storage and crafting is undeniably frustrating, there's almost *too much* choice in what to do, the whole "rebuild from dilapidated to pretty" vibe isn't for everyone, and sometimes the controls are a little finicky. But pretty much everything that people complain about in AC, from the inventory to the lack of direction, is fixed here, and everything that AC does well has been iterated and improved
For me personally, I started playing ACNH again in January with the 3.0 update, and loved every minute, but after the release of Pokopia, I've struggled to go back to what now feels quite barebones. I don't think the next AC will become a clone of Pokopia, but it's been so wholly outclassed that if *something* isn't done to improve it then I'm not sure I'll pick it up, despite my 450+ hours in NH.
So what features or inspiration to you think the next Animal Crossing title will take from Pokopia? Is there anything you'd like to happen but think it's unlikely, anything you don't want to happen but think is inevitable, or do you think AC is perfect as is?

▲ 55 AirSpace: Fix your 'Desktop 1' woes with custom Space names in the menu bar. Made with 0 AI. 34 💬
Hi -- you might recognize me as the dev of Stargaze from a month ago!
This project was one of the most difficult ones in my life (work and personal), but I’ve finally completed my second-ever solo indie project after 6 months, AirSpace!
It’s an app that lets you track which Space you’re on in the menu bar, give them custom names (you no longer have to settle for Desktop 1 anymore!), use keyboard shortcuts to jump to them, and customize them with any color, any style (by any style I mean bold and italic text, heh).
I actually built AirSpace because of my ADHD and my inability to keep which space I was on in my working memory. Overall, it’s a focused utility app meant to boost your productivity! :3
# NO AI
I’m not really a big fan of AI, so AirSpace is made with 0 AI code, 0 AI art, and 0 AI text. All work was done by me or other humans, the code was made in Xcode non-agentic mode, the art was made in Affinity and Icon Composer, or purchased legally, and the words were made in my head. You can see the proof in the AI-Info section at [https://hazels.garden/airspace](https://hazels.garden/airspace)
# DISCLAIMER
Unlike other advanced space manager apps like Contexts (which I love) & Spaceman (which is great), AirSpace is made with 0 private APIs and is sandboxed and Mac App Store safe, so it relies on a quick onboarding process where you have to cycle through all your Spaces on app launch. It’s pretty quick and only when the app launches or restarts! AirSpace also saves your custom names, so you don’t have to rename everything all over again on restart.
Unfortunately, AirSpace cannot track fullscreen window Spaces (Spaces created by clicking the green traffic light button) as the method AirSpace uses is incompatible with fullscreen windows.
The version with keyboard shortcuts is currently live on my website. The Mac App Store version is waiting for review and will be up soon!
(If you’re wondering how I made this app, stay tuned for my post on a detailed breakdown on my website!)
# PRIVACY
None of your data is tracked. Neither is it stored anywhere except your personal device.
AirSpace is a one-time purchase of $9.99 on the Mac App Store. AirSpace can also be downloaded with a 7-day free trial on my website down below! After the 7-day free trial, the license key can be purchased on Lemon Squeezy for $9.99.
Check out AirSpace on the App Store here! - [https://apps.apple.com/us/app/airspace-manage-desktop-spaces/id6761712250?mt=12](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/airspace-manage-desktop-spaces/id6761712250?mt=12)

▲ 119 Is liquid cooling actually worth it for most gamers? 239 💬
This is something that comes up quite a bit when people are planning or upgrading their builds.
Liquid cooling setups definitely look clean and are often associated with high-performance systems, but there’s also a view that good air cooling is more than enough for most gaming needs and is easier to maintain over time.
For those who have used both air coolers and liquid cooling, did you notice a meaningful difference in temperatures, noise levels, or overall performance?
Was the upgrade worth it for your usage, or did it feel more like an aesthetic choice?
Also curious if long-term factors like maintenance, reliability, or cost played a role in your decision.
Would be great to hear how people approached this based on their actual experience.
▲ 56 Decisions paralysis. 9070xt vs 5070ti 119 💬
In my country, the best price for these cards are 5070ti 1350 AUD ≈ 945 USD
9070xr 900 AUD ≈ 630 USD
I literally cannot decide and could probably use some help.
I'm pairing either with a 7800x3d
I would like to raytrace and upscale on some games, like resident evil requiem.
I run 1440p 360fps monitor.
please help me guys I've been in an ADHD fixation tunnel for hours.
I could splurge the extra money but I do like to get value.
how much worse is the raytracing plus upscale for the 9070xt?

▲ 17 Which NVMe is better? 16 💬
I tried to check online, but different sites have different answers. One is a WD Black SN750 NVMe 1TB, and the other is a KINGSTON OM8PGP41024Q-AA. The former seems older but higher quality, the other newer but cheaper. I can use either one, with a fresh OS install.
Advice?

▲ 797 Games that survived having a child 511 💬
My daughter is four. My play windows are: after 8pm, occasional lunch breaks, weekend mornings if I get lucky.
I used to think this meant I couldn’t really game anymore. But in practice I had to get more selective.
The games that survived share something I didn’t have a word for until recently. They’re not necessarily short, they just work around my life instead of demanding I work around them. Hades II, Balatro, Stardew in small doses. This week I will even give Replaced a chance.. So I guess it’s mainly the perk of pausing anytime, come back after two weeks, feel oriented. No content expiring while I wasn’t looking.
Tried Fortnite (or just some online games I used to really enjoy “back in the day”... BUT! The battle pass ticking down, gazillion seasons of stuff to unlock, the overwhelm before I’d even figured out / remembered controls … quietly closed it, never went back.
What’s your current ‘works with real life’ rotation? And is there something you’ve had to accept just isn’t for you anymore, even if you’d love it under different circumstances? Sorry for long post, Just want to see if it’s just me..
